Sarah Comstock, PhD, MB(ASCP) Biology Professor Corban University
Meet Dr. Sarah Comstock
Dr. Comstock is a biology professor at Corban University with an emphasis on Molecular Biology and Physiology. At Corban she teaches various courses for the Math and Science Department that can be found on theteaching tab and she leads undergraduate research on DNA-containing nanoparticle tracers for fluid flow analysis.
She has other roles at Santiam Hospital, where she is a Molecular Supervisor in their CLIA lab, at DSO where she is the Chief Scientific Officer and consulting through her company Santiam Molecular Consulting.
Additionally, she serves as the Board Chairman for Project Living Hope, a nonprofit that works in Haiti to empower Haitians to build a stronger country through athletics, job skill training, disaster relief, and community development.
Dr. Comstock's PhD research focused on metabolic disease (principally Type II and Gestational Diabetes) and fetal development. At Corban, she continued this research for 8 years until 2020, when she transitioned her work to molecular biology applications including diagnostic testing and fluid tracing using DNA tracers.
Dr. Comstock is certified by the American Board of Clinical Pathologists as a Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB).
